The basic premise of "Blue Ocean Strategy" is to define your sales goals based on the needs of your consumer or audience, not your competitors. Too often broadcasters copy their competitors or beat themselves up by going after the same opportunity instead of going after new opportunities or "blue oceans". One of the key mantras of the "Blue Ocean Strategy" is "Don't compete with rivals, make them irrelevant."
